U.S. 19 Crash Damages Wendy's Restaurant

A 69-year-old Palm Harbor woman is hospitalized with serious injuries following a crash on U.S. 19 Wednesday.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A 69-year-old Palm Harbor woman is hospitalized with serious injuries following a crash on U.S. 19 Wednesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 7:36 p.m. Dec. 23, the Palm Harbor woman was heading north on U.S. 19 and pulled into the left turn lane at the intersection of Highlands Boulevard.

A 20-year-old woman from Beverly Hills was traveling south on U.S. 19 in the inside lane north of Highlands Boulevard when the Palm Harbor woman turned into her path and the two cars collided nearly head on.

The car driven by the Beverly Hills woman was propelled into the Wendy's restaurant at 34092 U.S. 19, causing about $15,000 in damage to the restaurant.

The Beverly Hills woman and her passenger sustained minor injuries.
