PALM HARBOR, FL — Paramedics received a surprise visit from a Palm Harbor four-legged resident and his owner after coming to the aid of both following a dog attack.

Kimberly Hardin was out for a walk with her dog, Casper, when three larger dogs attacked them both.

Casper had significant injuries and Kimberly had bites on her hand, foot and leg.

Paramedics took Hardin to the AdventHealth Palm Harbor emergency room while Casper was treated at a local veterinarian.

However, Hardin was so concerned about Casper's welfare that she couldn't accept treatment for herself. Realizing this, the paramedic from Sunstar EMS, Peggy Buchanan, and the nurse from AdventHealth began calling for regular updates on Casper and sharing them with Hardin while she was receiving her own treatment.
