Woman Dies In 3-Vehicle Crash On Tampa Road In Palm Harbor

A 43-year-old Palm Harbor woman has died following a crash Friday on Tampa Road west of Lake St. George Drive.

PALM HARBOR, FL —A 43-year-old Palm Harbor woman has died following a crash Friday on Tampa Road west of Lake St. George Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 11:25 a.m., Stephanie Ann Tunender was driving her Volkswagen sedan west on Tampa Road west of Lake St. George Drive.

Suzanne Cosper, 52, of Palm Harbor, driving a Nissan SUV, and Elza M. England, 75, of Palm Harbor, driving a Toyota minivan, were both heading east on Tampa Road when Tunender lost control and crossed the center median break at the entrance to the Shoppes at Cloverplace. The Volkswagen collided with the front of the Nissan SUV. The Toyota minivan then collided with the rear of the Volkswagen as it rotated from the impact of the first collision.

Tunender died at the scene.

Cosper was taken to Bayfront Medical Center Palm Harbor with serious injuries and England was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital with serious injuries.
