Dolphins Quarterback Throws Father's Day Surprise

Ryan Tannehill took 10 kids and their fathers on a Father's Day shopping spree through a local sporting goods store.

MIAMI, FL — Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill knows how to throw the perfect pass on the football field. But he apparently also knows how to throw a pretty good shopping trip as well. Tannehill surprised 10 kids and their fathers from the Kendall Boys and Girls Club with $150 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift cards and led them on a shopping trip through one of the Miami area stores on Father's Day.

The event marked the grand opening of four new DICK's stores in the Miami area. Tannehill also presented a $2,500 check to the Kendall Boys and Girls Club and signed autographs for store customers. (WATCH BELOW: Tannehill speaks about his father.)

"Do you have a seven in this, size seven?" Tannehill beckoned to a store clerk, holding up a blue and black Adidas shoe for one of his young shoppers. The quarterback gently tossed the shoe to a store representative.

"I can remember being with my dad going to football practice, going to basketball practice, playing games in the front yard, playing catch in the street. Some of my best memories are playing with my dad, playing some sort of sport," Tannehill said. "It was awesome seeing the reaction from the kids when they found out they were going to get the donation and then the money to go shopping."

With the new stores, DICK'S has 702 locations in the country. Store officials said that the new locations will generate several hundred new jobs in the communities.
