MIAMI, FL — A stubborn fire broke out at a north Miami-Dade recycling center early Wednesday morning. The facility is located at 3700 NW N River Dr.
A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said that the blaze erupted just after midnight.
"The smoke and fire so intense, parts of N River Dr, Metro Rail and the train track are closed at this time," the spokesperson explained.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Paul Estopinan told Local 10 News that the fire proved challenging for his team.
"The most challenging part of this fire is having to tear down the pile," he said. "As you can imagine it's a recycling plant, there's a lot of metal. We have to tear down the large machinery."

The Miami-Dade spokesperson cautioned motorists to avoid the area if possible.
"This fire is contained, but firefighters are still working with heavy equipment to get deep into the piles of recycling," the spokesperson added.
