Good Samaritan Killed While Trying To Aid Crash Victim
A 62-year-old woman has died after being struck at the intersection of Park Street and 62nd Avenue North Friday night.

SEMINOLE, FL — A 62-year-old woman has died after being struck at the intersection of Park Street and 62nd Avenue North Friday night.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, at 10:05 p.m. a scooter operated by Joseph Mazza II, 29, was headed south on Park Street when Mazza changed lanes and struck a boat trailer carrying an 18-foot boat being towed by a Chevy Equinox driven by Adem Kljajic, 43.
The impact caused Mazza to fall from the scooter and land in the left lane. Kljajic and other drivers stopped their vehicles to assist. Among those who attempted to help Mazza was Michelle Lessl. Witnesses said they saw a Buick Century heading south toward the crash scene and attempted to get the driver's attention. The Buick, driven by Susan Shelton, 64, changed lanes to pass the crash and struck Lessl.

Mazza was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. Lessl was pronounced dead at the scene.
