Pinellas County Traffic Management has activated numerous digital signs advising motorists of the closure and will adjust timing of some signals and monitor alternate routes to ease traffic impacts. Other main roads will remain open, including Roosevelt Boulevard and the Bayside Bridge.
The closure is part of the Gateway Expressway project and is needed so that crews can remove the Fourth Street North bridge over I-275. Wrong-way driver technology will be tested during the closure.
