Weekend Fun on the Beaches: Dive In Movie and More

Looking for something fun to do this weekend on the Pinellas beaches or around Tampa Bay? Look no further!

Dive In Movie in St. Pete Beach: The St. Pete Beach Community Center and Aquatic Complex continues its summer movie series with "Hotel Transylvania" beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. Bring your noodles, floats and chairs to enjoy the big screen out under the stars. 

JDRF Paddle to Cure Diabetes: Paddle to raise money to help cure Type I diabetes. The event features paddle races, relays, kids events, SUP Yoga and paddleboard demos and begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 on Sand Key. See the event listing on Patch for more details.


Pet Expo of Pinellas:
 You and your pet can beat the heat at Humane Society of Pinellas County's indoor, air conditioned event at Minnreg Hall, 6340 126th Ave., Largo, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. There will be low cost vaccines/microchips, vendors, a flash mob, adoptable pets and an outside vendor area with a doggie splash zone! See the event listing on Patch for more details.

Civil War Infantry and Artillery Drill: Civil War buffs and military enthusiasts will want to head to the Safety Harbor Museum and Cultural Center, 329 Bayshore Blvd. S., from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 for this free event. Shark Week! The Florida Aquarium, 701 Channelside Dr., Tampa, celebrates these undersea predators beginning Saturday, Aug. 3 and will feature a shark-themed scavenger hunt, additional shark feeding tours, appearances by the Florida Aquarium Mermaids and more. Visit flaquarium.org for more details.
