You've Heard of a Ride Along, but What About a Fly Along?
Sheriff's Office Fly Along, Bayway Closing, Powerball Jackpot, A-Rod Coming to Town and Bucs Game Blackout are five things you need to know today.

Thursday night, from 7:30 - 9, you can follow along with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office helicopter unit on Facebook and Twitter. According to the sheriff's office, they will be live-updating social media during a routine patrol flight with Pinellas County's only law enforcement flight unit. "You'll get to meet the flight team, learn when and why "The Eagle" is in the air, and what you should do if you hear us overhead," a news release said.
Bayway Closures
The Eastbound lanes of the Pinellas Bayway Bridge will be closed  Aug. 8 from 9 a. - 4 p.m. for concrete placement. Planned closures for Aug. 7 and Aug. 9 have been cancelled. All cars, except emergency vehicles, will be detoured to the Corey Causeway during the closure.Â
Powerball Fever
The payoff is up to $400 million for tonight's Powerball drawing. For folks thinking of buying a ticket at the same Publix where Gloria Mackenzie bought the ticket that won the $590 million jackpot, here are 11 things more likely to happen than winning Powerball. But, if you still need to get a ticket here are nearby locations selling tickets on the Florida Lottery website.
Bucs Game Blacked Out
If you were hoping to catch Thursday night's Buccaneers preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, there's bad news. The game will be blacked out locally, according to TBO.com. You can watch a replay on WFLA at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.

Alex Rodriguez, who received a 211 game suspension from baseball, gets to play while he appeals the ruling. If you're looking for a chance to join thousands of other people at a stadium and yell your displeasure at him, you might get your chance at Tropicana Field in a few weeks. The Yankees play the Rays at The Trop starting on Aug. 23. Surely, we'll have seen some clever signs and chants from other fans by then.
