Man Accused In Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Involving Pedestrian
A 27-year-old Plant City man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident Friday.

PLANT CITY, FL — A 27-year-old Plant City man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident Friday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at 3:34 a.m, Richard Glorioso Jr. was driving his 2015 blue Chevrolet Cruze east on Trapnell Road.
Deputies said Glorioso swerved onto the shoulder of the road and struck a person walking east on the shoulder near Pioneer County Trail. The sheriff's office said Glorioso fled the scene without stopping or calling 911.

Prior to the accident, Glorioso was a suspect in a burglary that occurred in the Plant City Police Department's jurisdiction. Plant City Police found Glorioso inside his car on North Maryland Avenue at 4:39 a.m. with drugs and a firearm after police received a suspicious person call.
Damage to the front left side of Glorioso's Chevrolet Cruze was consistent with striking a pedestrian.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office assumed the investigation for the hit-and-run accident since it occurred in the unincorporated county's jurisdiction.
Plant City Police charged Glorioso with possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon or firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft third degree ($750-$5,000) and criminal mischief.
Criminal charges relating to the hit-and-run accident are pending further investigation. The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
