Passenger Dies In Accident On Wiggins Road

PLANT CITY, FL — A passenger has died following a crash Monday night on Wiggins Road south of U.S. 92.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at 6:10 p.m., the driver of a Saturn SUV was traveling south on Wiggins Road at about 45 mph when he lost control and drove off the road. The SUV struck a speed limit sign and a tree at 801 Wiggins Road.

The front-seat passenger died at the scene. The driver was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
