Dazzled Boutique Opens in Downtown Safety Harbor

After years of being vacant, a new business is breathing life into the old Safety Harbor Herald building at 525 Main Street.

Dazzled Boutique, a collaborative shop featuring clothing, gifts, artwork and even a life coach, opened on Friday following a month of prep work.

Run by a pair of partners, the shop is home to an eclectic collection of merchandise; bascially Dazzled offers something for everyone, according to co-owner Nancy Schwartz.

"We sell everything here - home decor items, gifts, clothing, furniture, art," Schwartz told Patch. "We have something for everyone."

Schwartz and her partner Suzanne Mavrakos share the space with a pair of artists, Sue Adams and her son, Jesse. Renowned life coach Sharon Kistler also has a room in the back of the shop.

The Adams' have very unique and very different styles, and their influences can be seen all over the shop.

"I specialize in fine art and painting on antique ceiling tiles," Sue Adams said as she worked on a piece at her easel.

Her son does more traditional painting and also custom wall finishes, which can be seen in the main room of the shop.

Adams also does furniture refinishing and commission work, and she said she will be offering classes at the shop.

The partners both owned businesses in neighboring towns for years, Adams in Dunedin and Schwartz in Palm Harbor. They decided to move to Safety Harbor when they found out the building was available.

"We saw this building and we just fell in love with the space," Schwartz said.

Schwartz, whose handiwork includes creating clothing with hand-embedded Swarovski crystals, said they are thrilled to be part of the Safety Harbor community.

"People have been coming in and telling us they're so happy to see something in this building," she said. "The reception so far has been terrific."

"We're doing something that I don't really see here in town," she added. "We are the shop to come to for anything you want for anyone, from high-end art to affordable gifts."
