DeSoto Fugitive Might Be in Tampa Bay Area
Believed to be "armed and dangerous," Reece Sturgis is wanted in connection with a May shooting that left one person dead.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the capture of Reece Thomas James Sturgis.
Sturgis, 18, is wanted in connection with a May 16 car-to-car shooting that took place in DeSoto County, according to an email from Crime Stoppers. That shooting resulted in the death of one person and critical injuries in another.
DeSoto County detectives have reason to believe Sturgis might be hiding out in the Tampa Bay area and could possibly be in Brandon, the release said. He was last seen driving a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala.

Considered armed and dangerous, Sturgis has a number of warrants out for his arrest, including one for second degree murder. He also faces attempted second degree murder and possession of cannabis charges, among others.
Anyone with information about Sturgis’ whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), reporting anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com, or texting CSTB plus the tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
