Extras Sought For Hallmark Movie Filming In Safety Harbor

There's a new Hallmark movie being filmed and one of the stars is the city of Safety Harbor.

SAFETY HARBOR, FL -- There's a new Hallmark movie being filmed and one of the stars is the city of Safety Harbor.

Hallmark began shooting scenes for an upcoming movie tentatively titled "Love in the Sun" on the streets of Safety Harbor on Monday.

The Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce said dozens of movie extras are needed. The directors are looking for anyone age 5 through 60 including families and couples.

Extras will be needed on these days:

March 26: 20 extras for 12 hours

March 27: 25 extras for five to eight hours and 18 for 12 hours

March 28: 62 for eight hours and 52 for 12 hours

March 29: 17 for eight hours.

"We've always known Safety Harbor had a great small town charm to it, but to now have it recognized by having a Hallmark movie filmed here feels great," said Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoub.

Several local businesses will be featured in the movie, along with Main Street, the pier and Marina Park.

Scenes are scheduled to be filmed in Safety Harbor on today, March 26, 27, 28, and 29 and April 8, 9 and 12, causing some temporary road closures. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be on hand to help with the road closures.
