Harbor Bar Deck Is Officially Open

After months of controversy and weeks of construction, the outdoor patio at the downtown bar finally opened last weekend.

The deck at the Harbor Bar in downtown Safety Harbor is officially open for use.

After a deal to potentially build the deck on city property fell through, officials decided to construct the patio in the bar's parking lot.

It took crews roughly three weeks to build the Margaritaville themed deck, which sports six picnic tables and an outdoor bar; the deck was opened to the public during a party last Saturday.

Here is a post from the Harbor Bar Facebook page regarding the grand opening event:

"I would like to thank everyone for coming out yesterday and making the day special and fun. We had a blast. Special thanks to 10, 000 Papercuts and The Bucket list Band for keeping the party rocking. Don't forget, we are open outside every afternoon at 4pm (except Mondays) and all day Saturday and Sunday. And for the heat... we have misters and a non skid non refective paint going on within the next few weeks. Again, thanks so much. I'm thinking we try this big again? Labor Day?"
