Have You Tried the Indian Lunch Special at 7 Stars Foods?

Did you know one of Safety Harbor's hidden gems for lunch is 7 Stars Food Mart & Deli on Main Street?

Frank and Nancy Kachhi have been in business for 13 years, but they just started offering Indian dishes on Wednesdays five months ago.

According to the affable owners, the idea has taken off.

"We've had Cubans and other sandwiches for 13 years, but we wanted to try something different," Frank explained. "The customers smelled us making our own lunches..."

"...so we had no choice but to offer it for them!" Nancy finished.

Frank says Nancy is the culinary whiz, while she says it was her husband's idea to put the meals on the menu.

The partnership has proven to be a huge success.

The couple said the special has grown in popularity every week; they are normally completely sold out of it by 3:00 p.m.

"It's delicious. I get it all the time," Hannah Jones said as she picked up her butter chicken order.

"I am hooked," Dorothy from nearby Regions Bank said.

Nancy Kachhi says she makes a different dish from scratch every week so "people don't get bored." They say if the success continues they might expand the concept.

"Who knows, maybe we'll open a restaurant," Frank said. "It's a lot of work, but her food is that good."
