Man Accused Of Stabbing Safety Harbor Group Home Caretaker
Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies have charged a man with attempted murder after he was accused of stabbing a group home caretaker.

SAFETY HARBOR, FL — Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies have charged a man with attempted murder after he was accused of stabbing a group home caretaker.
The stabbing occurred Tuesday, April 21 at 11:41 p.m. at 655 Pine St. in Safety Harbor. When deputies arrived, they discovered Lisa Beckford suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper left arm. She told deputies she was stabbed by 38-year-old Erich Perry, a new resident of the group home where she works and lives.
Beckford told investigators she was lying on the couch when Perry crept up and began to stab her. She struggled with Perry and he fled.

Deputies found Perry a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.
During an interview, Perry admitted to deputies he was trying to stab Beckford in the neck and kill her.

Beckford's injuries were not life-threatening.
