Oldsmar Woman Accused in $7,000 UPS Billing Scam

An Oldsmar woman who once worked in Safety Harbor is accused of billing more than $7,176 worth of UPS shipments to her former employer.
Investigators say Marzanna Danuta Dancel, 47, was in charge of finances at Island Comfort Footwear in Clearwater and also worked at another company called Sawyer Products in Safety Harbor.

When Dancel was employed at Sawyer Products, she added Island Comfort Footwear to the Sawyer Products UPS shipping list. She then shipped Island Comfort Footwear items and charged the shipping fees to Sawyer Products, according to an arrest affidavit.
Dancel was last employed at Sawyer Products in November of 2011, however investigators say she continued to ship items using Sawyer Product's UPS account up until July 16, 2013.

Investigators say Dancel admitted to shipping the Island Comfort Footwear Items using Sawyer Product's UPS account, but said it was a mistake and then claimed she thought the shipping was given to her for free from a company representative.
She was arrested July 16 on one charge of felony grand theft and was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $2,000 bond.
