Powerball, Rays Fever; LPGA Players at Chi Chi's

Here's what's going on in and around Safety Harbor today.

HOW ABOUT THOSE RAYS?

Entering Monday's off day, the Tampa Bay Rays were 66-45 and just a game behind the hated Boston Red Sox for first place in the American League East. The Rays return to action with a road trip that opens Tuesday night at 9:40 p.m. against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

LPGA Players To Speak at Chi Chi Rodriguez Complex

Two future star LPGA players in town to play in the inaugural IOA Golf Classic at Innisbrook will visit The First Tee summer camp today at the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf & Sports Complex to interact with the campers and parents. The complex is located at 2987 N. McMullen Booth Rd. in Clearwater. For more information check out the post on our events calendar.

POWERBALL FEVER

Got your Powerball tickets? The payoff is up to $400 million for Wednesday night's drawing! Granted, it's not as big as June's record $590 million prize, but you could probably still live comfortably, right? Find nearby locations selling tickets on the Florida Lottery website.

Volunteers Needed!

The Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center is still looking for volunteers to help stuff backpacks for their Back to School Bash on Saturday. The packing will take place at Safety Harbor Elementary School on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. - noon. Interested parties can contact the center at 727-791-8255.

Also, parents can still register their kids for backpacks! Contact the center for information.

YOU MIGHT GET WET

It's looking like a wet Tuesday in Tampa Bay, with a possibility of scattered showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service. As always this time of year, you'll want to have your umbrella with you just in case.
