Safety Harbor Man’s Death Deemed Suspicious

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the Monday death of a 61-year-old Safety Harbor man.

SAFETY HARBOR, FL — The Monday morning death of a 61-year-old Safety Harbor man is under investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home on Harbor Cove Street around 11:22 a.m. June 19. When they arrived, they found David Sommer dead inside the home.

“Detectives have confirmed that Sommer died from unnatural causes,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities did not elaborate on the cause of death. Further information is not being released at this time.
