Safety Harbor Trash, Recycling Changes Set to Begin

The new trash and recycling collection process, known as '1-1-1', begins Monday in Safety Harbor.

Starting Monday, Sept. 30, your trash and recycling collections will be changing.

Trash, recycling and yard waste pickups will now be once a week.

“We’re trying to make things easier for residents while keeping costs and operating expenses from going up,” Safety Harbor recycling coordinator Sherry Kennedy told Patch in August.

“By going to the 1-1-1 system, we will be using the same truck for trash and recycling collection, eliminating the need for two additional trucks.

According to the city the pick up schedule is :
  • If you live North of Enterprise Road (including the following subdivisions - Harbor Heights, DeSoto Estates, Los Arcos, Cypress Hollow, Cypress Knoll, Weatherstone and Northwood East) you receive garbage collection on Monday and recycling collection on Thursday.
  • If you live South of Enterprise Road your garbage collection is on Tuesday and recycling collection on Friday.
  • Wednesday is yard waste collection citywide.
Multi-family units that have dumpster services will have their items collected on Fridays.
