Sandwich on Main Will Open This Week

Another new business is getting ready to open in downtown Safety Harbor.

Sandwich on Main, a specialty sandwich shop located in the old You'Nique Boutique building at 308 Main Street, should be open by this Friday, according to owner Mercedes Locke Ofalt.

"We're trying real hard to open tomorrow, but definitely by 3rd Friday this week," Ofalt said on Wednesday. 

Ofalt said the shop will specialize in custom "hand-crafted" sandwiches like Ruebens, Cubans, muffalettas and grilled cheeses.

The shop will also have specialty chips and sodas as well as jams and jellies available for sale.

Ofalt's mom, Sally, who co-owns the shop with her daughter and husband, said the sandwiches will be generously sized, roughly half a pound depending on the sandwich.

The Lockes also promise that Sandwich on Main will be unique to the area.

"It's going to be unlike anything else around here," Mercedes said.
