SAFETY HARBOR, FL - A pit bull attacked a 45-year-old mother and her 14-year-old daughter Friday at their Safety Harbor home, deputies said. Another daughter stabbed the dog to death after it bit her sister and mother.
The family owns three pit bulls and one of them named Buster started attacking the other dogs, deputies said. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on West Gate Drive about 4 p.m. on a report of a dog attack. At the home were the mom and her two daughters.
The mother, identified as Heidi Cooper , and her 14-year-old daughter Meaghan Tokay attempted to separate the three dogs when Buster started attacking them. The 22-year-old daughter Sierra Wilson witnessed the vicious attack and rushed to their aide stabbing the dog several times with a knife, deputies said. The dead pit bull was found lying in the front yard.
