Carnival Pride Returns to Tampa in 2017

The 88,500-ton ship will be in the Bay area for a limited time.

Cruise lovers with a preference for sailing out of Port Tampa have a new option coming soon.

The port announced Wednesday that Carnival Cruise Line is bringing back its 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride for a limited time in 2017. The ship will offer five- to 14-day voyages out of Tampa between January and February 2017.

The “Fun Ship” cruises will take place onboard the newly renovated 88,500-ton Pride. The ship features such popular eating establishments as Food Network’s Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Burger Joint, Bonsai Sushi and the Blueigunana Cantina. The Tampa cruises will set sail for such destinations as Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, the port announced.

“We are thrilled that Carnival has decided to sail some great new cruise itineraries from Tampa, and we look forward to even more unique opportunities to come,” Paul Anderson, port president and CEO, was quoted in a media release as saying.
