Chamberlain Student In Custody After Cutting Teen With Knife

CARROLLWOOD, FL -- A 15-year-old Chamberlain High School student is in the custody of Tampa Police after being accused of cutting another student with a knife on Friday.

Hillsborough County Schools spokeswoman Tanya Arja said the 15-year-old girl pulled out a knife and cut a 17-year-old boy during a confrontation at 11:25 a.m. The boy's injuries were minor.

The incident caused the campus to be placed on a temporary lock-down while police searched for the girl. Police discovered that she had left the campus and she was found at her home about 30 minutes later.

At this time, the knife has not been recovered and the girl has not been charged.
