Flood Watch Extended in 3 Tampa Bay Area Counties

More rain is likely over the next few days.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for some good news on the weather front aren’t likely to get in over the next few days at least.

With more storms anticipated Wednesday night and a 70 percent chance of showers on Thursday, the National Weather Service has extended the flood watch for Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties yet again. The watch now extends through 8 p.m. Thursday. The service anticipates a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain on Friday with showers also likely on Saturday and Sunday.

A flood watch is issued by the service when flooding is possible within the next 24 to 36 hours. Residents are warned to take care on roads and to clear drainage systems outside of their homes of any debris, if possible.
