Tampa, Fla., March 5, 2016 – Following the end of the second round of a series of three FDOT Charrettes (Community Engagement Meetings) the Stop TBX Coalition has gained the full support of the Downtown Arts Civic Association, Jeff Zampitella, President.

The TBX project is a boondoggle, and has been identified as such in a national report covering the worst highway projects in the nation.* Express toll lanes are wrong for Tampa - but, TBX is not a done deal. Concerned citizens are continuing to organize and protest this too costly, short-sighted project that squanders crucial transportation funds, destroys historic Tampa and does not meet the community’s transportation needs.
What: A march to protest the loss of historic homes, churches, businesses, parks and green space caused by this project that calls for massive widening and expansion of I-275 along the VM Ybor sector

Participants will wear yellow ponchos, a symbol of the customary color used on construction projects to denote Caution- as well as to create an aerial view of how wide the swath of destruction would be.
