Tampa teens looking for an inside glimpse into how City Hall works can be a part of the Mayor's Youth Corps Class of 2014.
The Mayor’s Youth Corps provides a forum for Tampa teens to engage with City leaders, participate in their community, connect with their peers, and learn about civics and city government. As part of the program, members learn about City government, meet with Mayor Bob Buckhorn, conduct community service projects, and produce a youth-oriented television show.
Each class of the Mayor’s Youth Corps is comprised of up to 40 students in grades 9, 10, or 11 who attend a public or private high school within the City of Tampa limits. Applications are now begin accepted for one-year terms.
Application forms are available in all school guidance offices and are accepted until Friday, October 18, 2013.

Members of the Youth Leadership Council, seniors in high school who were part of the prior year’s Mayor’s Youth Corps, review the applications, conduct interviews, and make recommendations regarding acceptance into the program.
