Seminole Heights Shootings: HART Bus System Cancels Detour
The transit agency had created a nighttime detour for the Route 9 bus after multiple shootings in the Seminole Heights area.
TAMPA, FL - HART announced Wednesday that it was resuming its regular bus service in the Seminole Heights area. The transit agency had created a nighttime detour for the Route 9 bus after multiple shootings occurred in the area of the bus stop in Seminole Heights.
Tampa police arrested a suspect Tuesday night in the four Seminole Heights slayings. Howell “Trai” Donaldson III, 24, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
On its Facebook page, HART said: “With great relief, we announce the cancellation of the Route 9 nighttime detour. Regular service resumes Thursday.”

The detour began Oct. 20 because of the shootings as HART said it was taking precautions to protect its riders and drivers. HART will continue its service via Route 9 to 15th Street beginning Thursday morning.
