STOP TBX - I-275 March this Saturday, 4/23

Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00am, Meet-up at the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association for a march through the affected neighborhood

Tampa, FL - On April 23rd at 11:00am, we are meeting at the Tampa Youth Development & Community Center, which is itself a target of TBX, and will have to be moved from its current location if TBX is built. (The center is at 2005 N Lamar Ave, which is at Palm Ave and the I-275 overpass)

The march will begin at 11am, with set up beginning around 10am.

We will march near Malfunction Junction in Tampa Heights and VM Ybor, highlighting the impacts that urban highway construction and expansion has had on Tampa's urban core, and the additional harm TBX expansion will cause to neighborhoods still struggling to recover from FDOT's past "improvements".

The march is 1.5 miles long, about the same as the last march. It should take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. We will include a map with descriptions of highlights along the route, so marchers can follow along as we go.

Please refer to the parking map posted in this event's discussion for where to park. Parking is free where marked, please do not block any driveways. Please carpool, or even better take the HARTline bus or bike to the event. Sign up for our Newsletter
