Anyone interested in sustainability, community building, urban farming, and social justice is encouraged to participate, organizers say.

“It’s for people who are involved in the community or just curious about Sulphur Spring,” said Washington, “so that everyone knows what’s going on in the neighborhood and discuss how we can come together as a whole.”

Harvest in tha Hood, the Birdhouse Buying Club, the HCC Sustainability Council and other organizations will discuss how folks can get involved and create positive change in Tampa through networking and sustainable action.

The tour will end at the food cooperative Birdhouse with refreshments, snacks, and live Cuban music from Trio Matamoscas.

The walking tour will be about ten blocks, so folks can bring a bicycle or rollerblades.

The event is free, but donations are accepted, organizers say.
