Thief Removes Donation Box from Local Charity

The incident was reported to the Tampa Police Department.

Authorities are looking for a man they say stole a donation box from a local charity last week.

Here's what happened around 4:52 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, according to a report from the Tampa Police Department:

A vehicle driven by a woman with the window down pulled up to the Ronald McDonald House drive through, 4009 N. Armenia Avenue, with its lights off. A man in the vehicle opened the back door on the driver's side, reached out and used a tool to remove the donation box from the drive through window.

The box had little money inside because it had recently been cleared out by contractors who service the box.

The man who took the box is described as a white man in his mid 20's with a thick brown goatee, long sideburns, a lightly-colored T-shirt, green baseball cap, brown pants and brown work boots.

The vehicle is possibly a 1996-97 Honda Accord, dark blue or black, with a sunroof and chrome trim around the windows.
