100 Images Of Child Pornography Found On Computers: Tampa Police

A 33-year-old New Tampa man is facing 100 counts of possessing child pornography following a tip to a child exploitation hotline.

TAMPA, FL — A 33-year-old New Tampa man is facing 100 counts of possessing child pornography following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to Tampa police, detectives began investigating the tip about someone downloading multiple files of child pornography, and ultimately obtained a search warrant on May 11 to search the home of Daniel R. Hemphill at 16227 Enclave Village apartments in New Tampa.

Detectives recovered multiple computer devices and took them to the Tampa Police Cyber Lab for forensic review. Detectives discovered they contained more than 100 images of child pornography including sexual battery of a child.

When interviewed, Hemphill admitted that the computers were his.

On Monday, he surrendered himself at the Orient Road Jail where he was charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography.
