16-Year-Old Tampa Teen Shot In Car, In Stable Condition

CARROLLWOOD, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old at 9:02 a.m. Friday, March 6, in the 16000 block of Dawnview Drive, off Northdale Drive in Carrollwood.

The 16-year-old was shot by another person while they were sitting together in a vehicle. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident. The teen was transported to a local hospital with upper body trauma and is in stable condition. He is cooperating with detectives.

"Our deputies are talking to neighbors and reviewing surveillance video in the area to learn more about what led up to this incident, but we are confident that it was not random and there is no threat to the general public," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
