2017 Gasparilla Children’s Parade Road Closure Schedule Announced

The City of Tampa also announced no parking zones and shuttle service schedules.

TAMPA, FL – The streets of Tampa will be swarming with pint-sized pirates this weekend, and the City of Tampa have announced road closures ahead of the 2017 Children’s Gasparilla Parade.

The main children’s parade starts at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Bay to Bay Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard However, events will take place throughout the day starting at 11 a.m. and finishing around 7:30 p.m.

Now until Thursday, Feb. 2

Bayshore Boulevard crossovers at DeSoto Avenue, Nance Avenue, Albany Avenue and Gunby Avenue

Saturday, Jan. 21

  • 2 a.m.: Bayshore Boulevard from Bay-to-Bay Boulevard to Rome Avenue
  • 6:30 a.m.: Bayshore Boulveard from Gandy Boulevard to Platt Street/Channelside Drive; Bay-to-Bay Boulevard from Ysabella Avenue to Bayshore Boulevard; Davis Island Bridge off ramp onto northbound Bayshore Boulevard
  • 9 a.m.: One eastbound lane and one westbound lane on Bay-to-Bay Boulevard from MacDill Avenue to Ysabella Avenue to accommodate pedestrian walkway
  • 4:30 p.m.: Eastbound Bay-to-Bay Boulevard at MacDill Avenue

No Parking signs have been installed in the neighborhoods west of Bayshore Boulevard and will be in effect beginning Friday, Jan. 20 through Saturday, Jan. 21. Only motorists with identification verifying residency will be allowed entrance the Bayshore Gardens and Hyde Park Preservation neighborhood after the streets have been closed.

Any vehicles parked on the streets in the affected neighborhoods will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.

Shuttle service from the Fort Brook Garage, located on the corner of Franklin and Whiting streets, will operate one continuous route on Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $5 per adult and children accompanied by an adult ride for free. The shuttle will stop at Bayshore Boulevard near the beginning of the parade route.
