26-Year-Old Man Arrested Following Fatal Shooting At Tampa Hotel

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a homicide May 23 in the parking lot of the Residents Inn at 9719 Princess Palm Ave.

TAMPA, FL — A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a homicide May 23 in the parking lot of the Residents Inn at 9719 Princess Palm Ave. in Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Christian "Goldo" Rivera Pabon, was arrested Thursday on previous warrants for violation of probation and grand theft auto.

The sheriff's office added charges of first-degree murder while engaged in a carjacking, carjacking with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputies said Rivera Pabon got into a verbal dispute with a man he knew in the parking lot of the Residence Inn. While attempting to steal the man's vehicle, Rivera Pabon fired shots at him but was didn't get away with the vehicle.

A friend drove the man who'd been shot to a Shell gas station at 10030 E. Adamo Drive where deputies responded and found that the man had died from the gunshot wounds to the upper body.
