TAMPA, FL - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay welcomed another baby giraffe over the weekend. Say hello to Patty. Born on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, Patty is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 105 pounds.
She is the third giraffe calf to be born at Busch Gardens in the last four months. You can see her and her mother, Bititi, on the Serengeti plain at the theme park soon.
This birth is part of Busch Gardens’ participation in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plan. The mission of the plan is to cooperatively manage specific, and typically threatened or endangered, species populations within AZA-accredited facilities.
