A report says Jameis Winston will be suspended for 3 games by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy, ESPN reports.

TAMPA, FL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston will be suspended by the NFL for the first three games of the season for violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to ESPN.

The league has not notified Winston of its decision, and the suspension could still be reduced from three games, ESPN said citing sources. But the league is currently preparing to suspend Winston for three games.

ESPN Tallahassee host Jeff Cameron initially reported Wednesday that Winston was preparing to be suspended. Winston would lose $124,000 in salary for a three-game suspension, ESPN reported.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby defended Winston, saying he also was in the car with another friend and Winston did not touch the driver. Darby and Winston were teammates at Florida State University.

The Uber driver said she picked up Winston in downtown Scottsdale about 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016.

Winston sat in the front passenger seat and he was the only passenger, according to the driver. She filed a complaint with Uber soon after the ride.

Winston was removed from the app shortly after the company learned of the incident.
