Busch Gardens Launching All New Giraffe Bar For Theme Park-Goers

The new bar features craft cocktails and brews with a panoramic indoor and outdoor view of the theme park's expansive Serengeti Plain.

Ready for a new adventure? Busch Gardens is launching into spring with an all new Giraffe Bar for theme park goers that will overlook Serengeti Plain with indoor and outdoor views and air-conditioning. The bar will serve specialty cocktails as well as craft beer, including frozen drinks for those hot summers days around the corner.

A selection of wines and spirits that support wildlife conservation efforts around the world will also be sold at the new giraffe work. There will multiple televisions at the bar for sports fan to watch the latest games when taking a break from roller coasters and animal experiences.

The bar will have physically distant interior tables and shaded outdoor patio seating to keep safety in focus and feature a chef and mixologist-curated selection of cocktails and bites. Food selection will include shareable bites, including bourbon-glazed sticky wings, braised brisket mac and cheese, and smoked brisket-loaded French fries as well as vegetarian-friendly shareable items, such as loaded hummus and fresh oversized Bavarian soft pretzels..

The soft opening will be on Friday, March 19th, 2021.

Frozen specialty cocktails including “The Hungry Tusker,” featuring Amarula African Cream Liqueur (a South African favorite made with the fruit of the African marula tree), Hula Hawaiian Dark Rum, Coconut and Pineapple flavors. The Amarula Trust Conservation Fund safeguards and protects African Elephants in the wild and will benefit from purchases.

There will be sparkling cocktails on draft including the refreshing “Thorn and Berry,” inspired by the bar’s namesake giraffes that strip thorns off of branches to eat leaves, and the “Masai Margarita,” named after the Masai, the largest species of giraffe native to East Africa.

Beer fans can enjoy flights of specially selected local craft brews (the “Toucan” and the “Safari Graze”) that will be presented on an "Instagram-worthy hand-carved giraffe tasting paddle".

There will be a selection of wines including Proud Pour wines which support wildlife and wild places, including "Save the Bees" Pinot Noir from Oregon, and "Save the Oceans" Sauvignon Blanc from California.

Non-alcoholic beverages for all ages will be served, including refreshing juices available on tap which can be served in a refillable, limited-edition giraffe souvenir cup.

Busch Gardens pass members will get the VIP treatment, with a free collectible Giraffe Bar color changing pilsner with the purchase of a frozen cocktail or draft beer any Monday through Thursday by April 29th (while supplies last).

Collectors can also find a selection of limited-time branded merchandise as a reminder of the unique experience with every sip at The Giraffe Bar. In addition to the new Giraffe Bar, Serengeti Overlook is home to the newly redesigned and reimagined Oasis Pizza, serving favorites such as handmade pizza, chicken tenders, fresh salads, and freshly baked desserts. Busch Gardens guests can also look forward to more new culinary experiences coming in 2021.

Busch Gardens says the theme park has worked diligently with state and local health experts, outside consultants, and attraction industry leaders to enhance already strict health, safety, and cleanliness standards. These protocols and guidelines will be modified based on evolving industry standards and methodologies, public health, and governmental directives, and advancing scientific knowledge on the transmissibility of COVID-19.
