TAMPA, FL — Tampa residents can now hike, jog or let Fido roam free. After being closed for nearly two months due to the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Tampa has reopened trails, boat ramps and dog parks.

This includes the Davis Islands Boat Ramp at 864 Severn Ave., which has been closed for renovations.

The boat ramp is set to reopen May 8 with a renovated ramp, concrete floating docks, a kayak launch and the area around the ramp and dock area newly dredged.

As the city reopens the Davis Islands Boat Ramp, it will close the Lowry Park boat ramp at 7525 North Boulevard on Friday, May 8, for prescheduled renovations. Improvements will include replacing the existing dock and seawall along the southern side of the ramp. The new dock will consist of a fixed portion and a floating section with a kayak launch. Construction is expected to be completed by early June.

Also open are the boat ramps at Ballast Point Park, 5300 Interbay Blvd., and at Picnic Island Park, 7409 Picnic Island Blvd.
