Fire Causes $85,000 Damage To Duffy's Sports Grill

TAMPA, FL — A fire Monday night at Duffy's Sports Grill, 1580 N. Dale Mabry Highway, resulted in $85,000 damage to the restaurant.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant at 10:11 p.m. after a fire spread from a mulch pile to the front wall of the restaurant.

Firefighters had the fire under control at 10:59 p.m. with no injuries.

Fire investigators said the fire was caused by lit cigarette butts that were tossed into the mulch pile.

The fire caused moderate damage to the facade around the front entrance with minor smoke and water damage in the rest of the building.
