TAMPA, FL — It was a dream-come-true day when Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Tampa held its first annual Paul Davis Golf Classic on March 9 at Avila Golf & Country Club.

More than 50 golfers participated in the event and helped raise $12,000 for The Children’s Dream Fund, which fulfills the dreams of children ages 3-21 living in West Central Florida who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.

The tournament’s goal was to raise $8,000 to make dreams come true for two seriously ill children. Team members, clients and others were extremely generous in almost reaching that goal, but a contribution from Darren Impson, president of Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Tampa, nearly doubled the amount raised to a total of $12,000 and making it possible to grant the wish of a third deserving child.

“We feel that The Children’s Dream Fund aligns with our vision by providing extraordinary care while serving these children in their time of need,” Impson said. “This was our first year, but we plan to support this charity through our golf classic for many years to come.”

One dream has already come true for 20-year-old Justin from Port Richey, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. An avid gamer, Justin received a dream gaming package that included a gaming computer, television, Xbox One gaming console, controllers, headphones, computer desk, gaming chair, light-up keyboard, and gift cards to purchase additional games as well as a gift card to Justin’s favorite place to eat, Taco Bell.

“We have the deepest of gratitude for being the recipient of the monies raised by the first annual Paul Davis Golf Classic,” said Pamela Arbisi, director of development for The Children’s Dream Fund, headquartered in St. Petersburg. “Justin and his family were very appreciative and wrote a beautiful message on their whiteboard that said, ‘We want to thank you and EVERYONE that helps make these dreams possible.’ As you can see, a gaming system is more than an activity; it also provides joy and connectivity for a very thoughtful young man during a difficult time in his life.”
