First Day of Lobster Season Claims a Life

A man dies near Pompano Beach on the first day of sport lobster season.

A diver in Pompano Beach died Wednesday while fishing for lobster.

The 22-year-old man was pulled up from the waters near Hillsboro Inlet in Broward County around 8:30 a.m., Pompano Beach Fire Rescue told NBC 6 South Florida.

CPR was performed on him before he was transported to Broward Health North, where he died.
