FL Grocery Store Hours On Easter: Publix, Sprouts, Walmart

Most pharmacies in Florida will remain open on the Sunday holiday as some grocery chains will be closed.

FLORIDA — Easter Sunday has often created some last-minute meal preps, but some of the most popular grocery stores in Florida will be closed or will have limited hours on the holiday, which falls of April 4 this year.

National chains are varied in their opening plans for the holiday celebrated across Christian faiths. At least 38 chain stores plan to close for Easter, with at least 23 opening for at least a part of it, according to a list from the coupon company RetailMeNot.

Walmart, Rite Aid and Fresh Market are among the grocery giants staying open for at least part of the day, the list shows. At least two stores that require a membership to shop there, Sam’s Club and Costco, will be closed, however. Retail stores that do not specialize in groceries, such as Kohl’s, Marshalls and JCPenney, will also be closed.

Although the coronavirus vaccine rollout continues and many states are lifting pandemic-related restrictions, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still urges people to limit grocery trips and use curbside pickup or delivery options when possible to limit the virus’s spread.

Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Save Mart, Safeway, Winn-Dixie, Albertsons, Harveys, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Sprouts are among the chain stores offering curbside pickup or delivery.
