FL Man Calls 911, Requests Meth Tested For Authenticity: Sheriff
Authorities said a Florida man believed that his dealer actually sold him bath salts instead of meth and wanted deputies to investigate.

SPRING HILL, FL ? A Florida man's recent call to 911 backfired on him in a big way, ending with his arrest.
That's because authorities said he foolishly called emergency dispatchers to request that a deputy be sent to his home to make sure the meth he'd just purchased was legit.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff?s Office, deputies were dispatched to Thomas Eugene Colucci's home in Spring Hill on Thursday to ?test the methamphetamine? he had recently bought.

Deputies said Colucci, 41, told them that he purchased meth from a man he met in a local bar, and after having used a bit of it, he believed it was actually bath salts.
Colucci went on to tell deputies he was an experienced drug user, having used meth in the past and ?knew what it should feel like,? the sheriff's office said.

Deputies said Colucci handed them two small baggies, each containing a white crystal-like substance.
According to the sheriff's office, he then told deputies he wanted his methamphetamine tested because he did not want other people to purchase ?fake? methamphetamine from the dealer who sold it to him.
Colucci wanted deputies to ?put the person in trouble? for selling dangerous drugs; however, he was unable to provide a name or any contact info for his dealer, the sheriff's office said.
"As requested, a deputy performed a field test on a sample of the white crystal-like substance from each of the baggies. The substance from both baggies tested positive for methamphetamine," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Deputies placed Colucci under arrest and in the back of a patrol vehicle.
After being placed under arrest, the sheriff's office said Colucci told deputies he was having some chest pains. He was then transported to a local hospital where he was medically cleared by a physician.
He was booked into the Hernando County Detention Center and charged with possession of methamphetamine and two counts of drug paraphernalia possession.
