Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Businesses; 4 Taken To Hospital

TAMPA, FL ? A number of businesses in Hyde Park had to be evacuated Monday due to a carbon monoxide leak.

At 3:09 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue was summoned to the 700 block of South Village Circle in Hyde Park when the occupants of a shopping plaza began feeling ill.

The hazardous incidents team was called to investigate when meters indicated high levels of carbon monoxide.

The businesses and neighboring businesses were evacuated and ventilated. Four people were taken to the hospital to be treated.
