Glazer Museum, Tampa Kid's Market Debut Activity Area

Earlier this month, Glazer Children's Museum debuted its activity area at the Tampa Kids Market.

The market - which is an addition to the Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village that occurs on the first Sunday of each month - has adopted the mantra of "Create. Learn. Sell." Kids bring their own crafts and goods to learn the principles of business while they sell their products.

On July 7, items ranged from beaded bowties to pineapple-cherry lemonade. Twelve-year-old DJ Jake Dela Cruz provided entertainment while the museum offered hands-on activities that included a bubble station, chalk area and balloon zip line experiment.

The market is managed by Andrea Bowe and Regina Hord, and founded by Marisa Langford.

Hord said she and Bowe had worked with Glazer officials before, and figured the kids market would be a perfect fit.

"We needed an activity sponsor to provide some fun activities for the children for our play area at the market," she said. "We wanted it to be something fun and educational that also kept the kids moving."
