2. Tampa Roller Derby league is hoping to get restarted this fall after the pandemic shut down games in March 2020. Skater Kristie Grey talked to the Times about the sport. (Tampa Bay Times)
3. The Tampa Bay Lighting is on the verge of a Stanley Cup sweep against the Montreal Canadiens. The team leads 3-0 and will faceoff against Montreal next on Monday, July 5 at 8 p.m. (WTSP)
4. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a teenager who was found Friday morning in a lake at Nathan Benderson Park. The teen has been identified as 18-year-old Jalen Smith who recently graduated from Sarasota High School. (WFLA)
5. USF Student Government is considering a resolution to join the fight to save the USF Forest Preserve (USFFP). It was written by students, faculty, and environmental activists. It may take up to 2 weeks for a vote to occur. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
6. Thousands of fish died near Snell Island leaving neighbors in the area shocked and dismayed. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) says that Red Tide is likely to blame. (ABC Action News)
