TAMPA, FL — A fire has destroyed 80 percent of a house, leaving a Tampa family homeless.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in Tampa at 4:15 a.m. Monday and found 80 percent of the home in flames.
Firefighters used a defensive attack to stop the blaze. The fire was under control within 20 minutes.

The homeowners were alerted by their smoke alarms and were able to evacuate. One was injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
