1. Genesis Systems, an advanced tech start-up working to solve the global water shortage, is relocating its headquarters to Tampa from Kansas City. It currently employs 25 people, but plans to add 125 new positions as it launches new products from Tampa. It joins a growing number of manufacturing companies relocating to Hillsborough County. 2. A 24-year-old Polk County teacher has died from complications of COVID-19. D?Anthony Dorsey spent nearly three weeks on a ventilator before his death. His mother has called on parents and elected leaders to reconsider their stance on masks. (WFLA)
3. The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners has voted in favor of exploring stricter abortion rules. It sent a letter to Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody with those intentions. Protesters rallied outside the county?s Administrative Center on Tuesday morning. (Bay News 9)
4. St. Pete woodworkers Bill Truax and Mark James have gone viral on TikTok. One video has been viewed nearly 1.1 million times. James owns Bear Creek Custom Timber and has benefitted from the power of social media. (WTSP)
5. City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has endorsed Ken Welch for St. Pete Mayor calling him a "partner in progress." Welch recently received endorsements from U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, state Senator Janet Cruz and the Suncoast Sierra Club. Welch will face Robert Blackmon in the November 2nd General Election. (Florida Politics)
